I am planning on giving up the domain name neuromancer.ca, and have already moved this site to its new home at zenwerx.com since I have never used it to its full potential. I will be updating any links I can in the near future, although everything cannot be guaranteed.

Forums & Wiki Gone

I have removed the wiki due to lack of use, and the forums due to link spamming bots. If there's enough demand, I may put one or both back up. If you really need to get in contact with me about it, you can do the research.

Infected with DRM
2005-11-22

I wanted to warn my readers about some Sony CDs which are "Infected with DRM". Please take a look at your CDs and see if any of them are on this list which is not complete, but you can do more research if you like. This sony rootkit/DRM infection is also (allegedly) using stolen GPL/LGPL code, which is against what Zenwerx (my coding site) stands for (providing free software and respecting free software licenses).

root :: movies :: count zero (1010)

Status: failed

From The William Gibson Aleph

At the time of production of the 'Johnny Mnemonic' movie, Gibson sold the rights to most of his remaining novels, and one of these was 'Count Zero' which was sold to Atlas Entertainment. The name change to 'The Zen Differential' suggests that it was going to be cut out of the 'Neuromancer' trilogy to avoid commercial cross-over in characters and merchandise with the other two novels, just in the same way as it happened in the production of the 'Johnny Mnemonic' movie.

John Lloyd Parry produced a script, dated December 11th, 1995 and titled 'The Zen Differential', which in the meantime has undergone several revisions by Shawn Slovo. The new script more closely follows the original storyline in the novel, and the title has been reversed to 'Count Zero'. Currently the project is on hold at Warner Brothers' Studios. Michael Mann is 'attached' to direct, and Kathryn Sommer and Chuck Roven are still attached as producers. (additional information provided by John Lloyd Parry)
